After researching a variety of film posters, I have acknowledged a few reoccurrences in the products that fulfil the conventions of a film poster.
• Lower case letters used for a laid back look
• Release dates mostly at bottom of poster, near billing block
• Billing block in capitals in small print
• Famous actors names in larger fonts
• Tagline not necessarily used in all posters
• All main actors on the poster
I will be using these conventions in my film poster, and may challenge a few.
