Storyboard

This is my storyboard which will help me in the development of my main task. However I do not have a fixed idea of time of each shot or what transition will be used. (The images are in order from left to right as you go down)

Using Photoshop - MOCK UP

These past weeks I have been spending lesson time learning the basics of using Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended with Alex. Alex has been helping us create a mock-up to learn skills with the software. My mock-up is incomplete however I have learnt many skills using the software before starting the final product of my Film Poster and Film Magazine cover. Now I am ready to start my Film Poster and Film Magazine cover and use the skills I have been practising.

Here is an original photo of the image I am using for my mock up:

Here is a screen shot of my mock up in Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended:

Here is an image of my mock-up.

Music-PRS for Music

Today I contacted PRS (Performing Right Society) for Music. I wrote them a letter asking for permission to use copyright music for my media production piece. I am now waiting for them to get back to me so I can continue working on my production piece.

Music-Browsing on YouTube

Today I spent my lesson time thinking about music for my teaser trailer. The reason for thinking about music is because I learnt from last year’s production that music played an important role in my production piece. I browsed around YouTube to listen to different types of music. I came to a decision to use the track ‘Heartbeat’ that is an instrumental from a Bollywood film, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’. However I will need licensing or permission to use this track.

Ideas for Film Title

I have been thinking of titles for my film, by researching titles of a similar genre and storyline:
- Letters to God (2010)
- My Sister’s Keeper (2009)
- Terms of Endearment (1983)

I have thought of similar titles like:
- My Best Friend
- Me and My Best Friend
- The Life of Maya
- The Life of Maya and Me
- Maya’s Life
- Maya’s Life With Me

- Maya and Me

I haven’t chosen my favourite title yet, but I am planning to use one of these ideas.

Treatment

Aisha is 16 and her mother past away with cancer when she was 12. She is moving to college with her best friend Maya next summer after her GCSE results. On results day Maya finds out she has cancer and finds it difficult to break it to Aisha that they may not be going to college together. When Aisha finds out about Mayas cancer they try to spend as much time together as they can, they build a scrap book about their life together. When Maya passes away, the scrapbook turns out to be Aisha’s salvation.

Here is my treatment for my film. At first I had different ideas for my film and wanted Maya to survive as she fighted the cancer, however i thought it would be better if she does pass away so the scrapbook has a meaning.
